Ezio Testa Overview

Ezio Testa is an American citizen who lives in the New York area.

Mr. Testa was born in the Italian province of Piacenza; he grew up on a farm and attended school in the small village of Fiorenzuola d’Arda.

Mr. Testa was married in 1976 and he and his wife have one child, a son. Ezio Testa speaks French, Turkish, English and Italian, and parts of several other languages; he has many hobbies including fine arts and collecting.

Engineering

Since earning a degree in civil engineering at the Insituto Tecnico A. Tramello, Mr. Testa has become a leader in logistics and supplies to the international business world. From 1975-1977, Mr. Testa worked on logistics for the construction of an oil pipeline between Turkey and Iraq. Tehre, he worked for an Italian company called Condotte e Strade.

After leaving Condotte e Strade, he joined Torno -- an Italian construction giant -- in 1978. Torno was at the time the 12th largest construction company in Europe.

Within four years, Ezio was in charge of numerous corporate functions, such as supply, maintenance, logistics, procurement and subcontractors.

Innovation

Ezio Testa’s innovative business approaches saved Torno millions of dollars and were adopted and used in future projects. Examples of his innovation are the Shiroro Dam project and a road construction project on Mindanao Island in the Philippines. The Shiroro Dam, located on the Kaduna tributary of the Niger River, was finished in 1990 and provides 600mw of power to Nigeria’s capital region.

Ezio Testa was able to save Torno $38 million while constructing this dam by retaining large assembled equipment components on site, eliminating warehouses of small spare parts used in maintenance. Mr. Testa also saved the company $18 million in road construction costs on Mindanao Island by moving dirt using graders rather than dump trucks.

From 1997 until 2006, he was CEO of IHC Services, a subsidiary of Torno America. IHC Services was a marketing company that represented manufacturers who contracted with organizations like the U.S. government, NATO, the United Nations and other large customers.
